Tom Walter
Founder of Ombrie · Content clipping
I built a network of more than 30,000 clippers across German-speaking Europe. Together we generated over one billion organic views — for brands including Universal Music, Nico Santos, Oktagon and Baulig Consulting. Without a single euro of Meta budget.

How one observation turned into a network of 30,000 clippers
For years, reach was something you had to buy. Anyone who wanted to be seen paid Meta €30 to €50 per thousand views — or booked influencers whose audience scrolls past the moment an ad begins. Both are expensive, both are borrowed, and both stop working the second the budget runs out.
Meanwhile, something else happened on TikTok. Thousands of people started taking existing video material apart and reposting it as their own clips — own hooks, own captions, own music. No followers, no audience, no name. Seen millions of times anyway, because the algorithm doesn't ask about reach, it asks about retention.
That is what I turned into a system. Ombrie is the infrastructure behind it: a brand supplies raw footage — a podcast, a vlog, a performance, a trailer. More than 30,000 verified clippers build new accounts from scratch and post fresh clips from that material. Not one channel with a lot of views, but hundreds of accounts holding the same brand in the same audience's feed at the same time. You don't pay for effort, you pay for what actually happens: per thousand views, at a fixed price.
The numbers that come out of it are the reason I write about it. An album launch for Nico Santos: 2,550,801 organic views in under seven days. An MMA fighter: 566 clips across 24 accounts, 12,224,670 views. A real estate consultancy: 3,295,253 views in under 30 days and €75,000 in new client revenue. Across all campaigns, more than a billion views — for a fraction of what the same reach would have cost as advertising.
I consider influencer marketing and UGC in their current form a dying model, and I say so openly. What I share here and on LinkedIn is the counter-proposal: how predictable organic reach actually works, what it costs, and where it hits its limits.
My topics
Content clipping
How the model works, what separates it from UGC and influencer marketing, and why clippers work without an audience of their own.
The economics of reach
CPM as the currency: ~$5 per thousand organic views against $30–50 on Meta. What that means for marketing budgets.
The algorithm
Why a brand-new account with no followers can pull millions of views — and what decides a clip in its first three seconds.
The clipper economy
A labour market of tens of thousands of anonymous people producing short-form video. How it emerged and how it gets paid.
